It's shocking, how addicted we are to the word 'Brand'

Hello Readers,Hello Lovely People,
It's your homeboy 'Shopaholic' aka Nikhil here.

It's the last Sunday of the month and you must have already got 'Salary has been Credited' SMS.
So I'm sure you must be in a good mood to read the Blog ðŸ˜¤

Every single weekend, we open all the Online Shopping Websites(and buy inessential stuff).Uumm, I still make sure I sort 'Price: Low - to - High', how bout you?

Aahh! there you go, just as I type I got the SMS, 'My Order has been placed for Bla-Bla'.

Well, without getting into the debate whether, Online Shopping has hampered the business of local Shopkeepers,or has increased unemployment,or  isn't reliable enough, or 'Alert: Special discount only for you' is a hoax and so on, what I personally feel and want to convey via this Blog is, Online Shopping definitely lacks, 'The Human Touch'.

I still remember, I used to go with my Mom for buying her a Saree (which used to transform into Sarees) and her conversation with her regular Salesman. He used to greet her with a smile, Mom used to ask his whereabouts. Same was the case with Sabziwala, Grocer, Laundry boy and who not. Some may argue it was their business tactic, so be it. There was definitely a pleasant feeling, a joy of buying something new, an eager to show it to neighbors. Haven't we left this behind? We have got so addicted to the word 'Brand', I won't be surprised if someone Google's 'Online Branded Happiness'. Somehow we are finding joy in 'Being Human - Clothing' rather than 'Being Human'.

So, I insist, buy a Balloon from that old man in the garden and gift it back to his own granddaughter standing next to him. Next time you eat a WadaPav, buy one more and give it to the little one who is touching you for some money. All the pretty Women (OK, Girls) buy some accessories from her who sells them in Ladies compartment. Give it to someone if you don't intend to use them, doesn't matter.
I request you to stop bargaining with the roadside vendors. You may end up spending some more and he may judge u a fool. I suggest, be that fool, because it's only wise to give the needy.
If you can't bargain while buying Gold bangles, why bargain for Glass.

Aahh! there you go, just as I type I got the SMS, 'Your Order has been Cancelled for Bla-Bla'.
